RETROFITTING/UPGRADING EXISTING GATES
Retrofitting/upgrading existing gates is one of Dynotek’s unique capabilities. Based on our examination of an existing structure, we may be able to retrofit a gate with a “smart” solar-powered actuator and control system connected to the existing gate. This is often the most cost-effective method of automating older gates, including slide/stem or radial style gates. Recent installations have ranged from relatively new Rotork gear boxes to a 100-year-old worm gear drive. Our objective is to provide the most cost-effective installation using as much of the existing gate as possible.
NEW SOLAR-POWERED GATES and ACTUATORS
Dynotek has combined its expertise in remote monitoring and control with the actuators to provide smart, solar-powered actuator and control systems on existing slide or radial gates, or new slide, radial or “split” gates.
Solar-powered “Smart Gates”
Dynotek can supply complete solar-powered “smart gate” systems for new installations or replacement/retrofit of existing structures. Based on our field engineer’s site evaluation, Dynotek will design a gate that best addresses the customer’s site and flow requirements.
Gates include low-friction HDPM bearing surfaces, DC-powered actuators, 100-300-1 gear reduction, and a PLC to maintain operating parameters specified by the customer. Operators can control gates on upstream or downstream level, or on flume or other rated weir structure measured flow. All gates can be solar-powered with battery backup. Wireless telemetry can be added to provide continuous remote monitoring and system updates.
